• A simple mission to see people understand light again! From daylight, sunlight and red light to optimising light at night for better sleep.

Light is so important for health, the mission is simple, get people to appreciate light and all it can do!

Photobiomodulation has a place in every home and it is my mission to develop an understanding of light in every Scandinavian household. Red light, blue light blockers, better daylight exposure = improved health outcomes for all.

  • Lighttherapy.no is just one man with a vision - that's me!

37 year old British ExPat living here in Drammen, Norway. Father to an amazing daughter and a man in search of improving aspects of his life so that he gets to appreciate all the time he has his with his daughter.

The aim is simple - to feel good, look good and be able to love and enjoy my daughter - not be restricted, by pain, illness or lack of energy - that is the reason for lighttherapy.no

  • I have spent the last 16 years in the health and fitness industry, coaching mums and dads, lecturing on college and university courses and helping people achieve the knowledge that could positively influence their health.

Since moving to Norway, I have understood just how important light is! My light journey began there and moved forward, researching and sourcing different products that reflected what I was all about.

Why did I get into Red light therapy?

Why did I get into Red light therapy.

For the real reason, you have to go back half my lifetime to when I first broke my ankle. Seems fairly routine, nothing to worry about?? Wrong! the break actually caused damaged the blood vessels in the bone so severely that bone actually began to die. Long story short, it has meant that I now have the ankle of 95 year old and have  had 4 subsequent operations. I am just waiting to be old enough to get an artificial ankle.

With all that, I have always been into health and well-being and trying to find ways of staying healthy whilst limiting the impact on my ankle, not always successfully. Alongside the ankle, I have had heart infections which have lead to an irregular heart beat (but at least my heart has been thoroughly checked out, so that is a bonus) and because of these as well as other factors, I have suffered from bouts of depression.

Fast forward to 4 years ago and after my last operation on my ankle and subsequent bout of depression - my mindset finally changed. It begun with simple walks outside, at first with crutches, then just walks. Getting out and into the sun light - I felt so much better. I started research light, then specific wavelengths of light to help aid in recovery from surgery, pain relief from the arthritis and energy levels to keep up with my 5 year old daughter. From that point on, it was constant research until July 2019 where I finally decided that I know enough to start spreading the word of just how fantastic red and near infrared light is. Not just for me - but for you to!

I always recommend day light as my first port of call for light therapy, because that can make the difference to some people. After you have achieve your daylight goals, or if you suffer from pain, inflammation or have skin issues that you want helped and you want to try something before surgeries, light therapy could be perfect for you
