Many companies boast high irradiance levels like 200 mW/cm², often measured inaccurately with solar meters. While these figures seem impressive, they are frequently misleading.
Combining improper irradiance levels with generic dosing recommendations such as “20 minutes, 4-7 times per week” lack the precision needed to optimize Red light therapy for different goals. Whether you are targeting skin rejuvenation, muscle recovery, or deeper tissue repair, different areas of the body require different energy levels. Penetration depth guidelines:
- 1-6 J/cm²: Mostly superficial effects
- 6-12 J/cm²: Superficial with moderate deeper penetration
- 12+ J/cm²: Deeper tissue penetration
Note: Skin color adjustments mostly matter for deeper penetration issues due to melanin absorbing near-infrared light, which might not reach deeper tissues in darker skin, requiring more illumination time.

I work from home a lot a the moment and sometimes that involves some late evenings. I bought this and an incandescent bulb thanks to Dominic's suggestion. He suggested the incandescent bulb from a different company and I admired that about him, he seems like he really cares when you chat to him. I also purchased a desk lamp as I wanted something portable that I could use for my desk and for reading to my son, it works perfectly! Although the one thing I dislike is that I now have to buy another as my son has stolen it for his room haha.

Vi har brukt lampen ca 1 mnd. nå, litt vanskelig å si eksakt forbedringer. Men vi bruker den daglig og vi har blitt avhengige av lampen. Det føles veldig avslappende å sitte foran lampen. Samtidig har vi en kort økt på morgenen med blålys inkludert å det virker litt mere oppkvikkende. Regner med at effekten vil bli mer merkbar utover vinteren. Vi har vært veldig fornøyd med kjøpsprosessen igjennom Dominic, veldig hyggelig og imøtekommende. Anbefaler Dominic til de som vurderer rød lys.

I know what you mean when you find it hard to describe some of the benefits of red light therapy and that it is very relaxing to sit in front of it at times. At other times it does indeed help you feel more 'ready for the day'. You will feel the differences more as it gets darker and the light is replacing the lack of light we get during winter in Norway.
