Silver metal frame. Large round lens. Two-tone arms — metal at the front, rubber-tipped at the ear for a grip that holds through movement. The elevated metal choice for evenings that don't involve sitting perfectly still.

- Best for stationary evening wear
- Same CR39 optical lenses
- For people who want the most refined, understated look
The Halo is the choice when aesthetics are the priority and you're going to sit down for the evening. The Arc is the choice when you want that same elevated metal look but your evening is less predictable — cooking after 7pm, moving between rooms, leaning over a desk, the small constant movements of a normal Norwegian evening at home.
The difference is in the arms. Full metal temples look exceptional but tend to slip slightly at the ear when you move. The Arc's arms transition from metal at the front to rubber-tipped at the ear — the grip is meaningfully better without sacrificing the overall look. From the front, at a dinner table or on a sofa, they read as a premium round metal frame. When you get up and move, they stay where they should.
Same silver metal front. Same spectrometer-tested CR39 lenses. Same 98–99% blocking. Just with enough grip to keep them on your face while you live your evening.
Leaning over a worktop, checking a pan, reaching for things — full metal arms shift. The Arc's rubber tips keep the frame in place so you don't have to keep adjusting it mid-dinner preparation.
Most evenings aren't entirely stationary. If you sit down to watch something, get up, come back, pick things up — the Arc maintains its position through the transitions where the Halo might drift.
If your prescription or reading glasses are round metal frames, the Arc is a natural evening continuation of that aesthetic — familiar on your face and visually coherent with your usual look.
Like the Halo, the Arc's round lens softens strong jaw lines and angular facial structure. The slightly larger lens area gives a little more visual balance on broader or more prominent facial features.
The Arc's silver metal front photographs well and looks like considered eyewear. As a gift it reads premium without being impractical — the rubber tips mean the recipient will actually wear them comfortably.
Working from home past 7pm means sitting at a desk, shifting position, sometimes getting up. The Arc holds through a work session better than pure metal temples, without looking out of place in a professional context.
Larger-profile round lens in a silver metal frame. Circular geometry softens angular and square faces. The silver finish is clean and neutral — works with most personal styles without being assertive.
Metal construction from the hinge forward, transitioning to textured rubber tips at the ear. The rubber grip holds more securely than pure metal during movement — the single most practical difference from the Halo.
Metal frame nose pads can be gently bent to fit your bridge. A precise fit reduces the tendency for frames to slip even further, complementing the rubber arm tips.
Same optical-grade glass across all AfterDark frames. Lower peripheral distortion than polycarbonate. Spectrometer-tested; certificate available on request, free of charge.
The right starting point for most people.
Essential during midnattsol season.

The Arc came out of a simple observation: the Halo is a beautiful pair of glasses and people love how it looks, but a handful of customers who ordered it came back saying it slipped when they were moving around in the kitchen. Full metal arms are elegant but they don't grip the way rubber does, and once a frame starts sliding you end up either adjusting it constantly or taking it off — which defeats the purpose.
The fix is in the arm tips. The Arc uses the same silver metal construction from the hinge forward, but the arms transition to a textured rubber tip at the ear. It's not immediately visible — from the front it looks like a premium round metal frame. But it holds noticeably better when you're not just sitting still. That's the difference, and for most people with active evenings it's the one that matters.
If you're genuinely choosing between the Arc and the Halo and you cook your own dinners most evenings, get the Arc. If you sit down at 8pm and don't move until bedtime, either works — and the Halo's thinner arms are the purer look.
